Working Culture
Idle Women are artists and producers. We are often mistaken for being an organisation, so for the purposes of recruitment we feel it is worth introducing a little of our working culture. We all share some background of working in arts education: in galleries, theatres, community and university settings. We value and centre relational practice, we understand that nothing is made or created in isolation without the essential input of others. If you come to work with us, even in a freelance role, we will likely meet weekly or fortnightly as a team to help learn about and support each other’s work and projects. Although we work collaboratively, each of us is responsible for the delivery of our projects from conception through delivery through to tidying up afterwards. We are a small team without dedicated technical, administration nor production staff, so self sufficiency is key. Flexible Working We offer some form of flexible working across all of our roles but please note that those roles which involve working with groups will require regular attendance on set days of the week to match the existing programme. Further Information We work across sites with limited wheelchair accessibility, but we do our best to adapt to all barriers. To discuss access please email [email protected] for information or to arrange a call to talk further. An enhanced DBS check will be required for successful candidates. Posts are open to women applicants only as being female is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. |
