This International Women's Day do something different and join us to celebrate the arrival of idle women - on the water in Dewsbury.
The Selina Cooper is a tailor made narrow boat conceived, designed and built by women to provide a place for ideas and friendship, a place for all women to belong.
Mooring at Shepley bridge Marina the project offers a range of free arts activities, opportunities and social events for women to come aboard and join a creative process.
idle women artists Nicky Bashall, Stella Barnes, Cis O'Boyle and Rachel Anderson who will be living onboard this spring and look forward to meeting you.
To celebrate the launch women and girls are invited to join a creative sharing from 5pm – 7pm for an evening of food, poetry and friendship, just bring yourself or bring something to share, a poem, a drawing, your knitting, an idea or a bag of crisps.
The boat is also open from 1pm-3pm, when all are welcome aboard to have a look around, meet the artists and try out some creative activities.
